The Rogers Family Trading Room was established in spring 2001 to Connect the Classroom and the Financial World at Penn State University. The Smeal College of Business was among the first business schools in the nation to invest in a finance lab.
The Trading Room replicates a real-world trading experience and functions as a classroom and a laboratory. LCD TVs offer access to live coverage of CNBC and other financial and news networks. Real-time tickers and MarketWall displays surround students with important financial information while 54 dual monitor workstations provide access to simulation and analytics software.
The solution consists of a ticker inside the lab, a ticker outside the lab, and a triangular ticker wrapping a kiosk in the atrium.
