The Hughey Center for Financial Services, was established in 1997 and has earned global recognition as a leading academic technology center.
The Trading Room is a state-of-the-art teaching and research center located in the Smith Academic Technology Center at Bentley University. As the centerpiece of the university’s Hughey Center for Financial Services, the Trading Room provides firsthand exposure to financial concepts such as trading, portfolio management, corporate finance concepts and risk management.
The 5,000 square-foot facility comprises two parts: the main trading floor and the adjacent business suite, which is used as an overflow facility. In aggregate, the Trading Room is equipped with 60 dual monitor workstations and 24 Bloomberg terminals.
The Trading Room features 2 video walls and 3 LED ticker tapes displaying real-time market information and headline news. The center is dedicated to providing world-class education through the integration of the multi-million dollar Trading Room. Supporting more than 50 graduate and undergraduate courses, and providing faculty, students and staff with an unrivaled collection of financial technologies valued at millions in annual licensing fees.
