University of Texas Austin is one of the pioneers in building a mock trading floor.  Their room was dedicated back in 1996 becoming one of the first state-of-the-art trading, research and teaching facilities in the world.  (more on their history here)

In the late 90′s they installed a custom serpentine LED stock ticker on the bulkhead on the exterior of the trading floor using a tri-color, 16 pixel tall LED ticker (see photo below)

 This summer the school refreshed the technology installing our latest 24 pixel premium style ticker using the full color spectrum of 16.7 million shades (see below)

Wow – the color really brightens up the hallway and draws attention to the finance lab.
