Rise software and services put the trading lab displays back on track at Saint Joseph's University

Over the years, Rise Display has acquired a reputation as a 'one stop shop' among electronic display solution providers.  For Dr. Joseph DiAngelo, Ed.D., dean of Saint Joseph's University's Haub School of Business, that was exactly what made the company attractive to his school during their recent search for new display assistance.  "When our Wall Street Trading Room was constructed back in 2002, we installed a Trans-Lux Picture Wall, Data Board and Ticker to display data.  We then had to purchase the software to run the boards, and the data to display on them, from two additional vendors.  The process of keeping the boards functioning consistently became burdensome; when a problem occurred, we had to troubleshoot the solution with three different vendors."

"We became disappointed with this arrangement for two main reasons: first, we were never able to display dynamic charts on the Picture Wall, despite several attempts to remedy this with both the hardware and the software vendors.  And second, we spent valuable man-hours managing the boards."

So when the time came to upgrade their display content, Saint Joseph's asked Rise Display not only to provide them with more powerful and up-to-date software, but also to simplify and consolidate their entire system.  "We wanted to update the display boards in our Trading Room with software that would provide more dynamic presentations – real-time charting, news headlines, ticker and portfolio displays," said Dean DiAngelo.  "We were impressed with Rise's 'all-in-one' solution.  Rise technicians install the hardware and software, provide the data and manage the content."

The school also took the opportunity to add some new full color LCD displays to their trading lab "to display current market data, business news and announcements," explained the dean.  "These displays serve to showcase the type of information that the room provides – they catch the attention of students and parents, and generate interest in our business school programs."

Dean DiAngelo said that the new displays and arrangement have been a welcome improvement to their communication strategy.  "We are able to make some changes to the content on the LCD panels and Ticker board by accessing the Rise Vision website.  All other changes are made by the Rise project manager on request.  This streamlined approach appeals to us.  Our staff is delighted at the saving of time and labor that the new arrangement has provided them."

So far, the changes visible on campus have also met with complete approval: "The displays have run consistently well, and generated positive comments from students, parents and visitors.  We hope this will reflect in increased enrollment and donations."

The dean also praised the service that accompanied their new solution.  "Our experience so far with Rise's hardware, software and service has been excellent!  Rise's sales and installation teams were top notch.  Our contract was to install Risevision software on our existing Translux Data and Picture boards, as these were already purchased.  Since Rise could not offer a software solution for our existing ticker board, they agreed to give us a Rise Ticker at no cost.  During installation, the project manager even agreed to delay his flight home, in order to meet with the Translux technician, to fine tune the software installation on the Translux boards."
