Accreditation Standards for ACBSP and AACSB

What are the advantages to adding Ticker Displays and/or Digital Signage to your college of business?

We could list of several benefits for improving communication with students, helping education on the stock market, improving your atmosphere and many more.  One advantage that you should consider is how it will help you get accredited with either AACSB or ACBSP, or help you reaffirm your accreditation.

In browsing through the ACBSP Standards and Criteria for Demonstrating Excellence (sorry we couldn’t find an online copy but here is a link to their main accreditation page) sections 2.4 and 2.5 talk about Facilities and Equipment and the overview states: “Appropriate space must be available to faculty to create a professional atmosphere in which to work.  Laboratory space must be adequate to support both day and evening programs with state-of-the-art equipment, including computer hardware and software, to meet student needs.”

In the AACSB Eligibility Procedures and Accreditation Standards for Business Accreditation (revised Jan 31, 2012) we found several references to “facilities” but 2 stuck out at us as relevant:

  • Page 7 – regarding facilities and IT infrastructure to sustain activities.
  • Page 28 – “The school’s infrastructure fits its activities, e.g., campus-based learning, distance learning, research, and executive education. Classrooms, offices, laboratories, communications and computer equipment, and other basic facilities are adequate for high quality operations.”

After you are accredited wear that badget with honor and incorporate it into the content on your digital displays. (that helped you get accredited!)
